Quite often, I get these emails from my readers about starting a side hustle or considering a few part-time night jobs (or part-time evening jobs) that pair well with their current time and schedule.
I’ve actually published a long & detailed article on starting a side hustle that includes 49 unique side hustle ideas.
So, in this article, we’ll talk about securing good and high-paying “part-time night jobs” and “part-time evening jobs” that are actually worth your time.
Though there are a lot of interesting ways to make money these days, not all of them are actually legit.
There are literally dozens of Instagram & Facebook “gurus” trying to lure people into buying their not-so-cheap course in order to make millions as they claim to have.
While some of them might be actually genuine and are worth your money, you should not have to spend hours trying to filter the genuine from the scam.
That should not be your concern!
Instead, I’ve compiled this list that can help you score a reliable source of income that is 100% legit.
Whether your job isn’t paying well, or you’re a stay-at-home parent or looking for a job for your free time, or you’re just looking for ways to make money in general,
I’ve got you!
Whatever might be your case, having a busy schedule during the day does not mean you’re bound to the same income/lifestyle for eternity.
If you’re willing to burn the midnight oil and put out an extra effort without disturbing your tight schedule, opting for part-time night jobs might be in your best interest.
Many stay-at-home parents often advance for night jobs to be available for the kids and have some quiet work time where they can make money.
What makes a good part-time night/evening job?
And while searching for a part-time night job, it is important to find a job that:
- Has a good income potential
- Is sustainable throughout the year
- It has a flexible time and location facility
- It does not demand high-profile credentials to start working
- Or a good mix of the above according to your needs, qualifications, and available time.
When it comes to making money part-time, you can work in one of the three categories:
- Build your own side hustle or a small-scale business, or
- Work as a freelancer for other small businesses, or
- Work for a company as an employee
#1 is building and running your own side hustle/ small business:
When it comes to building your own income source, a lot of people tend to turn their heads the other way around.
“It takes way too long to make money“, ” the industry is oversaturated“, “people who started earlier have it easy” and most commonly “I don’t have time“, are the common excuses they make.
But trust me when I say this, I started this blog as a way to build my own side hustle in 2018, and back then too people were claiming that the blogging is saturated.
But fast forward today, I made over $26,000 in September 2023. And I don’t even spend more than 4 hours a day working.
That’s the beauty of having a side hustle/business.
Owning your own business, no matter how small, gives you the time and creative freedom to do anything you want, however you want.
And when it comes to money, there is no upper limit!
#2 is working as a freelancer for other companies and businesses:
Working as a freelancer has its perks too. Here you can earn money by offering your paid services without having to deal with all the office politics and annoying morning meetings.
As a freelancer, you also get to choose your work hours and workload, you can do as much as you want and as little as you want.
Most freelancers work from home, so a comfortable workspace is an added benefit.
#3 Working part-time or full-time as an employee:
Being an employee also has its benefits that the others don’t, that is: Guaranteed income, job safety (sort of) and added benefits such as insurance.
Being a business owner does not guarantee a threshold income, being a freelancer does not mean you’ll always have a line of clients waiting to avail your services.
But the income potential of being an employee is not as appealing as owning a small business or the freedom that comes with being a freelancer.
Everything has its own pros and cons, so consider all your options before jumping into any part-time evening/night job or a side hustle/small business.
Below mentioned are 34 part-time night jobs that might just fit as per your requirements,
34 High Paying Part-Time Late Night & Evening Jobs:
1. Make Money Blogging
Throughout this whole website, whenever there is any mention of “making money”, I have always put “Blogging” within the first five listed ways to do so.
Why? Because this is what I do and I absolutely love it!
But before anything else, let us have a chat about what is a blog and who is a blogger?
Well, a blog is a website that contains a number of articles or posts that revolve around a certain topic or a number of topics.
And a blogger is someone who manages the blog, creates content, and update existing ones.
This is a great way to start making money because here, you’ll be your own boss, you create content around the stuff that you personally like, and also, you get to set your own working hours.
When it comes to the money-making part, there are quite a few ways you can do so. You can monetize your blog by:
- Display Ads (Like the ones you see floating around this page)
- Affiliate marketing (Making money by promoting products and services of others)
- Sponsered post (Creating posts about a brand or company who’ll pay you to do so)
- Online courses (You can sell your own courses)
- Other consulting services
How can you get started?
To get started, first, you will have to think of a name for your blog (domain name).
For example, the domain name of this blog is Prosmartrepreneur.com, similarly, you’ll have to come up with a blog name.
Try to think of a name that reflects the topic/niche of the blog.
If your blog is about cooking and recipes, you can name it KathysKitchen.com or something crazy like HolyMolyGuacamole.com; it is entirely up to you.
Alternatively, you can name your blog after your full name, (First name)(Surname).com.
It is very much possible that your choice of domain might be already registered.
Here you have no choice but to try out different names and word combinations until you get something relevant and available, sorry.
If the domain name you entered is available, TAKE IT! You have to register it as soon as possible because it might not be available tomorrow, or ever. Domain names are volatile like that.
One moment, AVAILABLE; in another moment, gone!
So if your domain name is available, check out this article where you can set up your blog with this step-by-step guide that’ll take you no more than 20 minutes.
And don’t worry; the process is quite beginner-friendly, and you don’t really need any technical skills to set up your blog. The process is so easy; even your grandma can do it!
How much money can you actually make with Blogging?
Oooo fun topic!
While money-making is not as linear as the amount of traffic you get, the more traffic you have, the more money you’ll be making.
100,000 pageviews monthly can get you anywhere from $3000 to $6000 or more every month if you monetize your blog with Mediavine ads, brand sponsorships, high-valued affiliate products, etc.
Many established bloggers make anywhere from $10,000 to an earth-shattering $100,000 a month. So, it is safe to say that income has no limit here!
Check out my income reports which are published every month.
Pros:
- Very easy to set up (takes less than 20 minutes)
- Freedom to choose any niche (you can blog about anything that interests you)
- Cheap as hell (at the cost of less than $4 per month)
- Very high-income potential (established bloggers make anywhere from $10,000 to a whopping $100,000 per month)
- Exponential growth (ability to grow very quickly)
Cons:
- Steep learning curve (there is a lot to learn)
- Slow growth in the beginning (which can be frustrating)
2. Proofreading
What exactly is Proofreading?
Proofreading is the process of reviewing and analyzing the final draft of a piece of writing to ensure accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting, and it should make sense altogether in the end.
Basically, it means finding (and correcting) mistakes in texts!
Freelance proofreading jobs are the kind of work-from-home jobs where a person spends time identifying typos in prewritten text formats.
Businesses and massive publishing organizations require proofreading to ensure quality and to maintain professionalism throughout.
So, if you like correcting mistakes and can spot errors, or can easily fix hidden misspellings, proofreading may be the thing just for you.
In 2014, Caitlin Pyle made over $43,000 by working as a freelance proofreader.
After she had a ton of success doing that, she decided she wanted to teach others how to do the same thing, so she started up Proofread Anywhere to make sure that others learn to proofread the right way and get clients consistently.
How to Get Started With Freelance Proofreading?
The easiest way to get one of these work-from-home proofreading jobs is by signing up for Caitlin’s Free Workshops on how to get started as a proofreader.

3. Freelance writing jobs
What is Freelance Writing “Work From Home Jobs”?
A freelance writer is someone who doesn’t work for one specific company, rather they work for themselves, contract out their writing, and write for a number of different clients, such as websites, blogs, magazines, and more.
P.S. You don’t really need a strong writing background in order to thrive in this business
How Much Money Do Freelance Writers Make?
According to PayScale.com, a part-time freelance writer’s salary is put somewhere in the range of $24,000 to $115,000 a year.
This range can go as high as $200,000 a year

4. Start a Dropshipping or an eCommerce store
What is it & How Does it Work?
Dropshipping is basically a business model that allows individuals to sell products online to the customers without ever actually stocking the products themselves.
This means, in dropshipping, you don’t have to make or keep track of inventory and shipping yourself, you can sell other suppliers’ products and they handle the rest.
While there is an option to sell other’s products, you can also sell your own products by opening an online store.`
The difference between Amazon FBA and dropshipping/online store is, that here you get to build your own store and scale it on your own terms.
How Much Money Does It Make?
There is not a definite range on how much money you can earn, you could be making anywhere from $500 a month to literally millions a month by selling products online.
Fun Fact: Kylie Jenner got her “Youngest Billionaire” status by selling makeup products online (KylieCosmetics.com).
How do you get started as a dropshipper or build an online product store?
Starting an online store is very easy, trust me. I’ve opened quite a few of them in the last year. The only problem is, that it is not so easy when it comes to scaling or bringing people to your store.
This is why proper guidance is necessary when it comes to learning a new skill, a lot of phony gurus nowadays sell their courses on every social media platform that has no value whatsoever.
On the other hand, Scott Hilse’s Simplified Dropshipping course is as genuine and practical as it comes.
I’ve taken a lot of dropshipping classes (including this one) and in the end, this course is what I’ll recommend every time.
Scott has taught many students who have (within the first week) made thousands of dollars. Just check out the testimonials and decide for yourself.
5. Make videos for YouTube
Let me start things off by listing some of the interesting YouTube stats (as of writing):
- Number of MONTHLY active users: 1.9 Billion+
- Number of DAILY active users: 30 Million+
- Number of videos watched per day: 5 Billion+
- Every day people watch one billion hours of video on YouTube.
Just look at those massive numbers and let the sheer volume of opportunity to make money sink in.
Once you clear the “1000 subscribers and 4000 public watch hours in the last 12 months” threshold on your channel, you’ll be eligible to put ads on your videos that’ll make you money every time someone sees the ad on your video.
YouTubers make videos through which they make money by putting ads in their videos. The revenue generated by those ads splits 55% and 45% between the creator of the video and YouTube.
The creator gets 55 percent of the revenue and YouTube takes the rest 45 percent.
And it’s not just ad revenue or Adsense through which you can make money, after building a good audience following in your channel, brands will reach out to you to promote their products or services.
Ever watched videos that start with “This video is sponsored by …”? Yeah, those are sponsored videos where the creator is getting paid to promote a brand.
The amount you make through these brand deals largely depends on the type of content you upload as well as your average views per video.
Roughly, if someone’s videos have an average of 100,000 to 500,000 views, then the YouTuber will make anywhere from $1,000 to up to $10,000 off of a sponsored video.
Huge channels that get millions of views get paid up to $100,000 per sponsored video, which is absolutely crazy to think about.
But again, this is not a hard and fast rule or a set payment rate, it really depends on channel to channel and brand to brand.

6. Amazon FBA
What is an “Amazon FBA” Business

The service provides storage, packaging, and shipping facilities, significantly reducing the work of the seller.
The program allows sellers to ship their products to an Amazon fulfillment center, where items are stored in warehouses until they are sold.
When an order is placed, Amazon employees physically prepare, pack, and ship the product(s) to the customer.
How To Start an Amazon FBA Business From Home?

What jobs can I do at night?
It all comes down to your available time, your interests, and your income goal. Any job or side hustle that aligns with these metrics is the one for you.
In order to find out what works for you, you can try to make a table where you list your interests/field and their potential incomes in the job and compare them side by side.
How can I work from home at night?
It can be challenging to work late at night if you already have a jam-packed day schedule, but in order to get used to the new work schedule, you need to plan things accordingly.
Set working hours, get into a work mindset, avoid distractions, make coffee if you need to, and make sure to get the job done without procrastinating.
To be able to work from home, you need to have a reliable internet connection and a comfortable setting.
Since you’ll be working for hours at a stretch, having ergonomic chairs or something similar will be best for your posture.
What are the best-paying night jobs?
If high income is your top priority, then I’ll suggest you go for starting your own side hustle that generates good income (such as Blogging or Dropshipping) or become a highly reputed freelancer so that you can set your service rates high.
Either way, you have to work quite hard to achieve that level. But if you want quick, guaranteed but limited income, opting for a part-time night job would be your best bet.
Final words
Having a tight day schedule is hard and working at night will certainly not be a cakewalk, and since this is something you’ve decided to do for a long haul, make sure that it is something that interests you.
Moreover, whatever you choose to pursue, just make sure that you be consistent with it. It is easy to give up something that does not produce desirable income goals.
In those times, just keep hustling and improving your skills. As you do, your expertise in that specific area will skyrocket and so will your income.
Consistency is something that separates the ones who make those big bucks and the ones who just fade away.
